a. What is IB (International Baccalaureate)?

International Baccalaureate (IB) is a curriculum created by International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Geneva Switzerland in 1986. IBO offers three different educational programs, which are suitable for students of different aged students. IBDP (IB Diploma Program), IBMYP (IB Middle Years Program), IBPYP (IB Primary Years Program).   The mission of IBDP is to develop an educational program for international students, which offers an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education, and is recognized by world famous universities. IBDP curriculum is a program that evaluates the overall capability of students. It also helps students to adapt to university easily. IBDP is one of the most influential international educational programs in the world because of its organized curriculums, systematic materials and strict grading system. Nowadays, not only top British system universities require students to provide IB predicted scores, many United States and Canada universities also recognized IB scores. IB tests are scored on a 1 to 7 scale, and many top universities grant students course credit if the students' scores are high enough. Each IB course offers two different levels for students to choose, which are higher level and standard level, and the students can choose the one that are suitable to them.    IBMYP is an educational program that focuses on developing the students with integrated knowledge, intercultural awareness and international horizon. The program prepares the students to connect with IBDP program in the future, by emphasizing on both academic and non‐academic developments.     IBPYP is an educational program that provides a great foundation for the students who would like to take IBMYP and IBDP in the future.
